INTRODUCTION TO ACCOUNTING
Grades 11, 12
One-half Credit/Semester Course
Prerequisite: A minimum of 70% in Consumer Business

This course teaches basic accounting for dealing with record keeping, double entry bookkeeping, tax procedure, and the accounting theory. It strives to develop an understanding and knowledge of the concepts of accounting and the principles involved.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING
Grades 11, 12
One-half Credit/Semester Course
Prerequisite: Algebra II

This course provides the student with a basic introduction to computer programming using C++ language. Emphasis is placed on the basic command structures of the language, input and output of a program, control structures, and practical applications of computer programming. This course will require free C++ software.

MICROSOFT OFFICE (required for Grade 10)
Grades 9,10,11,12
One-Half Credit/Semester Course
Highly recommended for all students

This course will develop an understanding of the personal computer software that all students will need to succeed in their high school and college careers. Microsoft Office 2010 is the latest version available to students today. In this course students will utilize: Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel and Access. The students will learn each application through real life project simulations.

CONSUMER BUSINESS
Grades 11, 12
One-Half Credit/Semester Course

Introduction to Business involves many different facets of business. You will be involved in learning to write checks, balancing a checkbook, and the responsibilities of using a credit card. You will get a general understanding of basic business terms and get a chance to read and discuss current topics in the news about businesses and how they are operating. Then finally, you will put your knowledge to work in creating your own business through a real life simulation.
