BAND I
Grades 9, 10, 11, 12
One-half Credit/Semester Course (Fall)

The students will gain proficiency with their wind or percussion instrument, expand knowledge of music fundamentals and theory, increase skills in ensemble performance, and be offered opportunities for improvisation and composition. This course requires the students to perform at all football games, various parades, and concerts. Practices and camp begin in August.

BAND II
Grades 9, 10, 11, 12
One-half Credit/Semester Course (Spring)

The students will gain proficiency with their wind or percussion instrument, expand knowledge of music fundamentals and theory, increase skills in ensemble performance, and be offered opportunities for improvisation and composition. This course requires students to perform at various venues including a spring concert and at the CCHS graduation. (Graduates are not required to perform at graduation.)

CONCERT CHORALE (Spring)
Grades 9, 10, 11, 12
One-half Credit/Semester Course

This course is designed for students interested in developing their vocal performing abilities. This course will cover the production of good tone, development of proper diction, use of vocalization to control vocal apparatus, maintenance of independent parts in multi-part textures, introductory sight singing, and music theory. Students will explore a variety of musical styles, including: sacred, secular, popular, and traditional. Students enrolled in this course are required to perform in a concert. Piano accompanists and percussionists are welcome to be a member of this class.
