Carleen Yannon-Scurti Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Adam Scurti, class of 1957, in remembrance of his wife, Carleen. Carleen was a proud graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School, class of 1959 and attended Saint Mary of the Springs College (now Ohio Dominican University). It was Adam’s desire to honor his wife, as Carleen was selflessly devoted to her friends and family. Through this scholarship, her legacy lives on. To qualify, the applicant can be an incoming seniors to Steubenville Catholic Central HS, who actively serves the local community, have exceeded the community service hour requirements (15 hours are required each year) as outlined in the student handbook, holds an accumulative grade point average of no less than 3.25, and who is actively involved in additional extracurricular activities at the high school such as music ministry, performing arts.
A total award of $1,000 will be awarded each year to either one ($1,000) or two students ($500 each). This scholarship is renewable for the student attending Steubenville Catholic Central High School, provided that all criteria is consistently met.
To apply for the scholarship, applicant must complete the application form, show proof of community volunteerism, show proof of GPA and provide information concerning extracurricular activities, including length of involvement.
