The Diorio Scholarship Fund was established by Paula (DiFabbio) Diorio, class of 1964, in remembrance of her husband and son. Paula’s husband, Robert, although not a CCHS alumni, fully supported the Steubenville Catholic Schools. He passed away November 8, 2008. Her son, David, who passed away on December 27, 1992 in a car accident, would have graduated with the of the class of 1994. Paula’s daughter, Gina, was a member of the class of 1991. Paula taught at CCHS from 1999 until she retired in 2013. Prior to coming to CCHS, Paula taught at the former St. Agnes Grade school. It was Paula’s desire to honor her family and to help students from Mingo Junction, Ohio attend Steubenville Catholic Central each year. To qualify, the applicant can be of any class year – freshman, sophomore, or junior year, who demonstrates financial need. Priority is given to the student who is a resident of Mingo Junction, Ohio or a member of St. Agnes Parish.
A total award of $1,000 will be awarded each year to either one ($1,000) or two students ($500 each). This scholarship is renewable for the student attending Steubenville Catholic Central High School, provided that all criteria is consistently met.
To apply for the scholarship, applicant must complete the application form and a financial aid form and show proof of residency or parish membership.
