Campus Ministry

Faith in Action

The Campus Ministry program at CCHS oversees everything sacramental and faith-based at the school. Events include adoration/praise and worship nights, ministry nights, retreats, and more!

Hi! My name is Kolbe Rice. This is my third year working at Catholic Central High School. I graduated from CCHS in 2019 and then went to a university in England to play soccer. I then transferred to Benedictine College in Kansas, and after 2 years there, I transferred back home to Franciscan, where I graduated with a degree in Theology in 2024. Throughout my somewhat unique college experience, I found the LORD teaching me to trust Him and follow Him; He also taught me how to listen, and the biggest thing I found was a passion to share His good news with those who do not know Him. Then He brought me here, at my alma mater, to share the gospel with students in my hometown with Young Life.

So what’s Young Life?

Well, I am so glad you asked!

Young Life is a Christian organization focused on introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their relationship with Him. The way we do this is relationally, showing up in students’ lives and showing that we really do care about them! We show up, have fun, break down walls, and, with God’s grace, we are docile to do everything we can do to help set the stage for Our Lord to transform the hearts of young people.

Sign-ups for Underclassmen Retreat are open! We will be going to Camp Ligonier Camp and Conference Center with Young Life again on November 20-22. When we arrive back at the school on Sunday, November 22nd, we will have Mass together around 3 p.m.; parents, family, and friends are welcome to join! Kairos sign-ups will be opened in the next week or so; stay tuned!

We hope your child will be able to participate in these opportunities for prayer and community. For questions, contact Kolbe Rice at krice@steubenvillecatholiccentral.org.

As part of Young Life, we invite college students to help serve in the ministry in order to reach more students. These students all complete all required safe environment and background checks set by the Diocese of Steubenville, as well as those set by Young Life. They then go through training with me to make sure they know what the mission is and what exactly it is that we’re doing and why we’re doing it. And then we welcome them to the school, events, and everything in between. These incredible leaders have decided to say yes to joining our mission at Catholic Central. Please pray for them! Attached are photos, names, and majors of all our leaders.
