H.O.P.E.

H.O.P.E. (Honoring Other People’s Exceptionalities)

The H.O.P.E. program is an entity within the Steubenville Catholic Schools that allows students with special needs to be educated in our schools.  Our mission is to provide an inclusive environment in which students can be a part of our Catholic school family while also creating high academic expectations.  Our program is primarily funded through Jon Peterson and Autism scholarships, both provided through the Ohio Department of Education. We are in our ninth year of being Jon Peterson and Autism scholarship providers, which has enabled families in our system the opportunity to bring all of their children to our schools, regardless of their educational needs.  We currently offer intervention, behavioral, speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy, aide, school nurse, and school psychology services.  All of our intervention specialists have been trained in Orton-Gillingham methodology.  Our program employs a speech therapist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst.  The H.O.P.E. program is the winner of the NCEA Innovations in Education award.
